BNPD DETECTIVES ARREST TWO SUSPECTS FOR THEFT AND FRAUD CHARGES

CID Logo1On 2/4/14, Benton Police officers took a report of fraudulent use of a credit card at several businesses. Contact was made with the victim who reported his debit card had been stolen and used at various businesses in Benton. The case was then assigned to detectives for followup investigation into the incidents.

On 2/6/14, at approximately 6:00 PM, detectives were conducting an investigation on a separate incident when they observed suspects at the Cedarwood Inn believed to be involved in the stolen debit card case. The detectives then made contact with two suspects, Steven Neugent (26 YOA) and Jessica Crumpton (24 YOA) both of Benton.

After further investigation, Crumpton and Neugent were subsequently placed under arrest without incident. Both suspects are charged with Fraudulent Use of a Debit Card and Theft by Receiving and transported to the Saline County Detention Facility for processing.
