Police Chaplain Earns Prestigious Certification

    Recently, Chaplain Tamra Gore of the Saline Law Enforcement Chaplains Association/Benton Police Department attended the International Conference of Police Chaplains (ICPC) 40th Annual Training Seminar held in Grapevine, TX.  
 
    Basic, Enrichment, Advanced, and Liaison Officer Training was offered to those in attendance.  A sampling of class offerings include: Introduction to Law Enforcement Chaplaincy, Stress Management, Death Notification, Officer Suicide in Law Enforcement, Disaster Spiritual Care, Healing at a Deeper Level, in addition to many others.  
 
    The seminar included ICPC’s annual Memorial Service, a touching tribute honoring all law enforcement officers who lost their lives in the line of duty, as well as a remembrance of ICPC chaplains who had passed during the previous year.  There was an awards banquet where Chaplain Gore received her Diplomate Level Credentialing.  
 
 
    Diplomate credentials represent the highest achievements in tenure, education, training, and service to ICPC.  Those awarded the Diplomate credentials are set apart and recognized for their tremendous accomplishments and service. 
 
    The criteria for Diplomate credentials include: full member in good standing, have been a law enforcement chaplain for not less than 15 years, must have held a Master’s level credential for at least 5 years, completed 50 continuing education units of training, have two personal references in a related field, and have performed service to or on behalf of ICPC.
