Benton PD Looking For Suspect For Attempted Armed Robbery

On 11/7/13, at approximately 10:29 PM, officers responded to the Home Run Gas Station (1415 Military Road) on report of an attempted robbery.  Upon arrival, they made contact with the owner of the business who informed them a suspect had just tried to rob the store.

It was determined through the investigation that the owner was inside the business stocking the shelves when he heard a noise at the front door.  He then witnessed a suspect holding a handgun trying to force their way into the business.  The owner then called 911 and the suspect took off running away from the business.
Officers searched the area around the business, but were unable to locate the suspect at that time.  The suspect was described as being a white male, wearing a light colored hooded jacket, dark colored pants, and a white bandana over their face.  Additional information will be distributed as it becomes available.
