SHOPLIFTING ATTEMPT ENDS WITH ROBBERY, BURGLARY CHARGES FOR A SUSPECT

Anglin keith barton 52At approximately 1:27 p.m. Sunday, officers responded to Walmart on Interstate 30 in reference to a theft that just occurred in which the suspect had fled on foot. Officers located the suspect matching the description inside a bathroom at the nearby Murphy USA.

Walmart employees told officers that the suspect, identified as 52-year-old Keith Barton Anglin of Benton, attempted to leave the store without paying for more than $625 worth of merchandise. Employees said when confronted Anglin pushed an employee and ran on foot away from the store. Employees said that Anglin was banned from entering the store on January 1, 2014, for a similar incident.

Anglin, who is on parole, was taken into custody and transported to the Saline County Detention Center. He faces charges of class B felony Robbery and class C felony Commercial Burglary.
