BNPD AWAITS FOR CAPTURE, EXTRADITION OF MAN FROM AFRICA TO BENTON

alandt davidThrough a multiagency cooperation a warrant has been issued for the capture of a suspect in Africa to be extradited to Benton for allegedly trafficking drugs.

David Alandt, 35, of Houston, Texas is wanted for failure to appear in a Saline County court where he faces felony charges of Trafficking a Controlled Substance and Simultaneous Possession of Drugs and Firearms, among other related felony drug charges. He is believed to have fled the country and is residing in Johannesburg, Africa.

On Oct. 18, 2014, Benton Police Department BICEP (Benton Interstate Criminal Enforcement Patrol) interdiction officers conducted a traffic stop on Interstate 30 near mile-marker 116. During the traffic stop officers seized 540 pounds of marijuana, 10 pounds of hash oil, and a large amount of U.S. currency.

After Alandt’s release from the Saline County jail he failed to appear for a court proceeding. Through the cooperation of the Saline County Prosecuting Attorney, U.S. Marshals and Interpol, a warrant has been issued for the capture of Alandt.
