TWO ARRESTED FOR MULTIPLE DRUG CHARGES

Peebles Brown CollageSMALLOn 1/14/16 at approximately 9:50 p.m. detectives with the Benton Police Department and Saline County Sheriff’s Office in the Special Investigation Unit arrested two women in separate rooms at the Capri Inn Motel for numerous drug related charges. After receiving numerous complaints of drug trafficking in and around the Capri Inn, a narcotic investigation was conducted resulting in, the felony arrest Capri Inn employee, 47-year-old Brenda Peebles and 59 year old Janice Brown both of Benton, Arkansas.


Detectives seized numerous drugs, including suspected methamphetamine and crack-cocaine, and various prescription pills, a glass pipe and several clear plastic baggies from inside the motel room. Detectives simultaneously served a warrant on 59-year-old Janice Brown in a separate motel room and seized two suspected crack cocaine rocks, two glass pipes with white residue, a razor blade, two mirrors, and a metal push rod.

Peebles faces felony charges of Conduct Constituting Conspiracy for Delivery of Methamphetamine, Use of Another Person’s Property to Facilitate a Crime, Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver (methamphetamine), two counts of Possession of a Controlled Schedule II Substance with Intent to Deliver, Possession of a Controlled Schedule IV Substance with Intent to Deliver, Maintaining a Drug Premises and an enhanced charge of Proximity to Certain Facilities.

Brown faces felony charges of Delivery of a Controlled Substance Crack-Cocaine, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Use of another Person’s Property to Facilitate a Crime, Maintaining a Drug Premises, and an enhanced charge of Proximity to Certain Facilities.

Based upon these results along with numerous citizens’ complaints and criminal activities, the Investigators will be seeking abatement proceedings in the near future.
