BNPD SEARCHING FOR SEX OFFENDER ON REGISTRATION VIOLATION AND THEFT CHARGES

Poe.BobbyUPDATE 3-11-15: Poe has been arrested and is no longer being sought by our agency.

The Benton Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating a registered sex offender for registration violations and theft charges.  The suspect, Bobby Poe (45 YOA) of Benton, has an active warrant for Failure to Comply with Registration and Reporting Requirements, and for Theft of Property.

Poe was living in a motor home at the I-30 Travel Park recently when he abruptly left the area without reporting a change of address.  Poe is believed to have taken the motorhome, which didn’t belong to him, and fled to Texas in it.  The motorhome was located earlier this week by the Dallas Police Department, but Poe’s whereabouts are unknown at this time.

Most of Poe’s ties are in the Central Arkansas area so it’s believed he will make his way back here eventually.  Poe was also arrested last month on failure to comply with registration charges. This is an on-going investigation and additional charges could be forthcoming.

Anyone with information about this crime or Poe’s whereabouts is encouraged to contact the Benton Police Department at 501-778-1171 or 501-315-TIPS.  Individuals also may send us an anonymous crime tip about this incident to CRIMES (274637) with the keyword BNPD in the body of the text or go to www.crimereports.com to leave a tip.  A crime tip can also be submitted via the official Benton Police Department app found on ITunes and Google Play.

Any suspects listed are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
