DETECTIVES MAKE ARREST IN RECENT THEFT AND FRAUD CASE

JonathanChristieOn 1/25/15, officers with the Benton Police Department met with a victim about a theft and fraud case that took place on Hickory Ridge. 
 
The case was turned over to detectives for investigation and a suspect was identified as Jonathan Christie (21 YOA) of Benton.  Evidence and information gathered indicated that Christie had stolen items from the victim’s residence, including checks, credit cards, and a firearm.  It was further revealed the checks and credit cards had been fraudulently used to obtain money and merchandise at area businesses.  
 
A warrant was issued for Christies’ arrest and he was subsequently placed under arrest on 1/30/15.  He is charged with 2 counts of Forgery, 3 counts of Theft of Property, and 2 counts of Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card. Also, the firearm that was stolen was located and returned to the owner.  This is an on-going investigation and additional charges could be forthcoming.
