TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO FELONY DRUG ARREST

BrandiGoforth1-5-15On 1/5/15, at approximately 3:23 AM, officers with the Benton Police Department conducted a traffic stop on Smithers Drive near Howard Perrin Elementary.  After making contact with the driver and other occupants, officers discovered some suspected drug paraphernalia used to ingest illegal narcotics inside the vehicle.  
 
Further investigation revealed suspected Methamphetamine and Schedule IV medicine without a prescription.  A suspect, identified as Brandi Goforth (32 YOA) of Bryant, was then taken into custody without incident and transported to the Saline County Detention Facility.  
 
Goforth is charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and 2 counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance (one misdemeanor and one felony). This is an on-going investigation and additional charges could be possible.
